Insolvency Practitioners from around Asia and beyond will gather at the Kowloon Shangri-La March 23 – 25 for INSOL’s Pan Pacific Rim Annual Regional Conference.
World experts in insolvency and restructuring will present on current issues ranging from cross-border insolvency to restructuring in India and China to maritime and shipping industry failures.
Proceedings open on 22 March with a day long session for academics, followed by a full day session on Sunday 23 March addressing cross-border insolvency issues, with particular reference to the PRC and the interaction with companies registered offshore in places such as the BVI and the Cayman Islands.
Given Hong Kong’s location and the inflow and outflow of investments to and from the PRC this promises to be a very interesting prologue to the main conference.
Attendees will be a mix of lawyers, accountants, academics and members of the judiciary from a wide variety of backgrounds and jurisdictions. Representatives of hedge funds and private equity firms will also be attending this conference for the first time. The conference is sold out and registration closed in January.
All-in-all, it has the prospect of a very interesting three days of discussions, exchanges of opinions and of course, Hong Kong being what it is, a great deal of partying.
