Ernest has more than four years of experience in insolvency and corporate recovery engagements in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Southeast Asia countries and Cayman Islands across a wide variety of industries including financial services, retailing, manufacturing and hospitality.
He was closely involved in the continued trading operations of a supermarket business with over 30 retail stores in Hong Kong including cash and liquidity management, daily operation administration, business plan review and the preparation and implementation of restructuring plans. He is also experienced in dealing and negotiating with landlords in respect of the handover of properties and mitigation of their losses.
Since March 2012 Ernest has been involved in a number of administrations involving the winding down the back office operations of Lehman Brothers entities in a number of jurisdictions, e.g. Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Cayman Islands.
In addition to the insolvency and corporate recovery engagements, Ernest has also been involved in a number of forensic accounting projects including a money laundering investigation of a well-known Hong Kong businessman in support of the submission of an expert’s report to the Court.
Ernest graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor degree of Business and Commerce. He is now a student member of CPA Australia. He is a member of the Restructuring and Insolvency Faculty of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”).
